Hello and welcome to Omega Kappa Lambda

It is an honor to serve those who served or still serving, their families and communities. I have always have a passion for serving others, I start it at just 18 years old when I became a police officer in my great island Puerto Rico. At that age I was able to help my community by fighting crime but at the same time helping those in need. I knew then that was my passion, after eight years of hard work and dedication I decided to enlisted onto the greatest military fleet in the world, the United States Navy.

I honorably served 5 years on active duty with multiple deployments on board USS Peleliu, after my active duty contract was over I decided to start a new venture. I became a DOD police officer at Oceanside, Camp Pendleton California. During my short tenure, I was able to do what I truly love, help my military community. Soon after I joined the Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons as a correctional officer, it has been eight great years and still counting.

As navy reservist (15 yrs.) I completed two deployments, one to Bahrain and Africa. As one of the Founders of Omega Kappa Lambda, I can sincerely say that we have a great passion for community service and help those in need. Suicide awareness, homeless veterans, blood drives and other problems that deeply affects our community is the reasons why we founded OKL. I will encourage you and every other military brother to join us in this great journey.

Hello and welcome to Omega Kappa Lambda

My name is Gwain Christopher Shells, and I am the Vice President Omega Kappa Lambda (OKL) Military Fraternity Incorporated. I am also one of the original seven Founders of the fraternity founded on September 29, 2020 and looking forward to this journey that we are about to endure. Our mission is to provide help and support to our fellow veterans and communities throughout the world. We are here to be role models for our service members, community, and set the example for those that look to follow when needing a helping hand.I joined the United States Army (Active Duty) at the age of 18 on June 17, 2003 and enlisted as a 92Y/Unit Supply Specialist. I have been stationed in Bamberg, Germany (54th Engineer Battalion), were I completed 10 years of service, along with two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. Upon leaving Germany in 2013, I was stationed in Fort Leonard, MO with the 14th Military Police Brigade, 795th Military Police Battalion for the next four years. Finally, my last stop was Fort Stewart, GA, I arrived January 5, 2017 to 385th Military Police Battalion, 546th Military Police Company. One month later I found myself conducting a rotation in South Korea. After returning from Korea, I was medically retired two years later August 26, 2020 as a Sergeant First Class (SFC).

As a Founders of OKL, I can truthfully say that suicide awareness, homeless veterans, blood drives, and other concerns that affects our community is the reasons why we founded this fraternity. I invite those of you that are ready for a challenge and ready to step forward with Brothers that are willing to put in work then come join Omega Kappa Lambda Military Fraternity Incorporated. We are the future and ready to work. Always remember, “We’re Here for You”!
